Troubleshooting your library's OverDrive website on Windows, Mac, and Chrome OS

If your library's OverDrive website isn't working properly, try the following troubleshooting steps. Once the issue is resolved, you don't need to continue to the next step.

Note: These steps apply to Windows, Mac, and Chromebook desktop devices. If you're using a mobile device, we encourage you to use Libby instead.

  1. Hard refresh the page:
    • Windows: Ctrl + F5
    • Mac: Command + Shift + R
    • Chrome OS: Shift + Ctrl + R
  2. Turn your device off and back on again.
  3. Try another browser. We recommend the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
  4. Update your browser.
  5. Disable browser plug-ins or extensions one at a time.
  6. Check antivirus software and firewalls you use. If one is blocking access to your library's OverDrive website, you may be able to adjust the settings to allow the site to load. Refer to the software's support resources (or your IT team) for instructions.
  7. Try visiting your library's OverDrive website on a different network (like a different Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot). If the site loads on another network, it's likely an issue with your main network. Please contact your internet provider or network administrator for help.
  8. Clear your browser's cache and return to the site.
Note: Clearing your cache removes saved credentials from your library's website (and other sites).
