E_ADEPT_RESET_PW_REQUIRED in Adobe Digital Editions

Users will receive this error if they try to authorize Adobe Digital Editions with an Adobe ID after the end of May, 2026 (exact date to be announced).

To resolve this error, you'll need to create a ByteBooks ID and use it to authorize Adobe Digital Editions. This is because Adobe Digital Editions is now managed by Wipro, owner of ByteBooks. You can read more about this change on Adobe's website or on ByteBooks's website.

Instructions for creating a ByteBooks ID will be provided here after the end of May, 2026.

Note: If you have any current loans (or purchased ebooks) that you've already downloaded using your Adobe ID, you should create your ByteBooks ID using the same email address you used for your Adobe ID. This ensures that your loans will appear when you authorize Adobe Digital Editions with your ByteBooks ID.
