How to use overdrive.com
Overdrive.com lets you explore the entire OverDrive catalog of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines, then find them in your library's OverDrive collection (if available). You can also use the library finder to look for a library's OverDrive website.
Use the sections below to learn more about what you can do on overdrive.com.
Finding titles
Use the search bar at the top of the page to look for a specific title, series, or author. Or, select Browse Collections to search by subject or see lists of titles created by OverDrive librarians.
Click or tap a book's cover to view title details, read or listen to a sample, or find a link to the title in your library's OverDrive collection. Please note that each library builds their own OverDrive collection, so not all libraries have all titles.
Note: You won't find your loans and holds on overdrive.com. You'll need to visit your library's OverDrive collection to open or download your loans and edit your holds.
Finding a library
Select Find a Library in the top-right corner to look for a library that has an OverDrive collection. You can view a map of libraries near you, or search for a library by name or location.
Once you find your library, select Visit library website (in a pin on the map) or See Digital Collection (in the list below the map) to go to their OverDrive website. From there, you can browse and search the collection, sign in with your library card, and borrow titles.
If you can't find your library, it likely means they don't have a digital collection with OverDrive.
Creating an OverDrive account
You can sign up for a free OverDrive account using your library card or email address. An OverDrive account isn't required to borrow OverDrive titles, but you can use it to sign into overdrive.com and the OverDrive app.
With an OverDrive account, you can:
- Save libraries to your account
- Save searches on overdrive.com and easily rerun them
- Get book recommendations from OverDrive
