What devices work with the OverDrive app?
Mobile app
The OverDrive app can be installed only in
from Google Play (on Chromebooks and Android 7.1+), the Apple App Store (on iOS 12+), the Microsoft Store (on Windows 8.1 or higher), or the Amazon Appstore (on FireOS 7+).If you already have the OverDrive app installed on a Fire tablet, you're welcome to keep using it for now. On compatible devices, you'll see messaging encouraging you to switch to Libby.
If you can't use the OverDrive app, we recommend trying Libby (for libraries) or Sora (for schools) instead.
Desktop software
As of February 23, 2022, OverDrive's desktop software for audiobooks is no longer available to install.
As an alternative, you can borrow and listen to audiobooks using Libby (for libraries), Sora (for schools), or your library's OverDrive website.
