You can use the OverDrive app for Windows 8/10 to get eBooks, audiobooks, streaming videos, and periodicals from your library on your Windows 8 or 10 device.

Note: Some digital formats may not be available from all libraries.

Step 1

Install the OverDrive app from the Windows Store.

Step 2

Open the OverDrive app and follow the prompts to sign in (or sign up) using your library card, Facebook, or a free OverDrive account. Learn which sign-in option is right for you here.

If you're under 13, you can use one of the under-13 sign-in options.

Step 3

In the OverDrive app, select the Add a library button, then follow the prompts.

Once you find your library, click or tap its digital collection to save it to your "My libraries" list and start browsing.

Now, choose the image below that looks like the titles in your library's collection.

Step 4

Borrow a title (you'll need to sign into your library's digital collection to complete this step).

Step 5

Once you've borrowed a title, select books icon to go to your Loans page and see your options for the title. From there, you can:

Step 4

Sign into your library's digital collection with your library card and borrow a title.

Note: Magazines and newspapers work a little differently than other digital titles. They have a Send to NOOK app button instead of a Borrow button, and to read them, you'll need to install the NOOK reading app from the Windows Store. See getting started with periodicals for more help.

Step 5

Find borrowed titles on your Checkouts page (under your Account) in your library's digital collection. From here, you can:
