By default, Android blocks the installation of apps that aren't downloaded from the Google Play store.

If your device doesn't have access to Google Play, you'll need to allow installations from "Unknown Sources" in order to download the OverDrive app. Follow the steps below to change this setting in Android 4.0 and higher.

  1. Go to your device's Settings.
  2. Tap Security or Lock screen and security (under "Personal").
  3. Turn on Unknown Sources.
Security settings with Unknown sources highlighted.
  4. Review the "Unknown sources" message, then tap OK.
