What to do if Firefox tries to open a title you're downloading with the wrong program

If you're having trouble opening downloaded ebooks through Firefox, you'll need to make sure Adobe Digital Editions is the default program for opening ACSM files (which are the download files for ebooks).

If you're having trouble opening downloaded audiobooks through Firefox, you'll need to make sure OverDrive for Windows (desktop) is the default program for opening ODM files (which are the download files for audiobooks).

Note: As of February 23, 2022, OverDrive for Windows (desktop) is no longer available to install. If you don't have OverDrive for Windows (desktop), you can listen to audiobooks using Libby (for libraries), Sora (for schools), or your library's OverDrive website instead.

Use the steps below to make Firefox open the download files (ACSM or ODM) with the correct program (Adobe Digital Editions or OverDrive for Windows).
