You can transfer audiobooks to MP3 players on a Mac by manually copying the files to your device.

If you're using an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod), use these instructions instead of the ones below, because transferring to Apple devices works differently.

Use Finder to copy the audiobook to your device

  1. Plug your MP3 player into your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Open a "Finder" window.
  3. Go to Documents > My Media > MP3 Audiobooks.
  4. Open a new "Finder" window (you can use Command + N on your keyboard).
  5. Find your MP3 player, which should be listed in the left-hand panel under "Devices."
  6. Drag the audiobook from the "MP3 Audiobooks" folder to your device.
You can put the audiobook in the same place as your music or with other audiobooks.

If you're having trouble with a transferred audiobook, try dragging the individual MP3 files to your device instead of the entire audiobook folder.
