The steps in this article will help you troubleshoot problems that you might encounter when you try to transfer audiobooks from your Windows computer to your iPod.
Note: These steps will also help with problems transferring to an iPhone or iPad. However, if you have an iPhone or iPad (or an iPod touch), we recommend that you install OverDrive's app for iOS to download audiobooks directly to your device instead.
- Make sure you have the latest versions of OverDrive for Windows (desktop) and iTunes.
- In iTunes, set your device to Manually manage music (or Enable disk use on an iPod shuffle).
- Begin the transfer and select your iPod from the "Player" drop-down menu.
Make sure to select the Apple device (name of your device) option (not "Apple USB Driver," "ROOT directory...," etc.).
- Follow the rest of the prompts in the wizard to transfer the audiobook to your iPod.
If the steps above don't work, you may need to import the audiobook directly into iTunes and sync your iPod to your iTunes library.
