Sometimes minor communication issues or Adobe server outages can cause errors (like a "List Change" error) when you try to open an eBook in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). If you see an error like this, use the following steps to resolve the problem:

  1. Delete the eBook that's causing issues from ADE, without returning it to your library.
  2. Delete the title's ACSM (or EPUB) file from your computer. You can do this by searching your computer for *.acsm (or *.epub) and deleting the file with the same name as the eBook that's causing issues.
  3. Clear your temporary internet files.
  4. Download the title from your library's digital collection again and open it immediately.
