How to suspend a hold

Suspending a hold lets you keep your place on a title's wait list when you're not ready to read it.

When a hold is suspended, you'll continue moving up the wait list. If you're first on the wait list, you'll get the next available copy of the title once you remove your suspension.

You can suspend a hold before or after it's ready to borrow.

Use the steps below to suspend a hold.

  1. In your library's digital collection, click or tap loans, then select Holds.
You'll need to be signed into your library to get to this page.
  2. Select Suspend hold beneath the hold you'd like to suspend.
  3. Select Suspend to confirm.

Your hold will be suspended until you remove the suspension. If your hold is suspended for 365 days in a row, it'll be canceled.

To remove the suspension, select Remove suspension under your hold.
