An Adobe ID is a free user account that gives you access to digitally protected (DRM) eBooks in Adobe Digital Editions and older versions of the OverDrive app.

Note: You may also authorize the most up-to-date version of the OverDrive app (3.2) with an Adobe ID, but we recommend using your OverDrive account to authorize instead.

You can read the same eBooks on multiple devices (up to six), but the software you use on each device needs to be authorized with the same Adobe ID.

If you don't have an Adobe ID, you can create one on Adobe's website. You'll also have the opportunity to create an Adobe ID when you install Adobe Digital Editions on a computer, or install or download eBooks in older versions of the OverDrive app.

Note:You can also use an OverDrive account to authorize Adobe Digital Editions. You can create an account at overdrive.com.
