If you have an iPod, please refer to our guide on getting started with an iPod.

If you have an iPod touch, please refer to our guide on getting started with iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch).

For all other MP3 players, the guide below will help you get started.

Step 1

Install OverDrive's desktop app for Windows or Mac. You'll need this free application to download audio titles to your computer and transfer them to your MP3 player.

Step 2

Open your library's OverDrive website on your computer (find it on overdrive.com) and log in with your library card.

Step 3

On your library's OverDrive website, borrow and download an audio title.

Note: MP3 titles can be transferred to a wide variety of MP3 players from both Windows and Mac computers. To transfer WMA titles, you'll need a Windows computer and an MP3 player that supports Microsoft DRM technology.

Step 4

Plug your MP3 player into your computer. Then, open OverDrive's desktop app, select the newly downloaded title, and click Transfer. Follow the on-screen prompts to transfer the title to your MP3 player.

Once it's transferred, you can listen to it just like any other audio file on your MP3 player.
