How to return or delete titles from a device or computer using Adobe Digital Editions

Adobe eBooks remain on your computer or device until they are manually deleted. Once the lending period has expired, you can no longer read them. The steps below show you how to remove expired eBooks to free up space or return the ones you finish reading early.

Note: These instructions are for ADE 2.0. Please make sure you're using the most up-to-date version before continuing.

Returning or deleting eBooks from your computer or eBook reader

1. Open Adobe Digital Editions, and go to your Library.

2. To remove or return titles from your computer, click Borrowed under 'Bookshelves.'
   To remove or return titles from your eBook reader, click on your device under 'Devices.'
   
   
   
   

3. Right-click on the book you want to return or delete.
   
   

4. Click Return Borrowed Item to return the eBook to your library and remove it from your computer.
   Click Remove from Library to delete the book from your computer or device without returning it.
   
   Note: If you delete the book without returning it, you'll still be able to download it from your library website until the lending period expires.
