How to borrow titles from your library using your computer
Because we are in the process of updating all digital library websites, this article has two sets of instructions (learn more).


You can borrow OverDrive Read eBooks from your library and read them directly in your browser.
You can also use free software from OverDrive or Adobe to download library titles to your computer.
What you need
Borrowing titles

Open your library's digital collection website (find it here).

Find an available title to borrow. You can:

Click on a title, then click Borrow to check it out.
If prompted, sign in.

Your bookshelf opens, displaying title(s) you have checked out. From here, you can click Read to start reading eBooks in your browser.

Note: If you are using Internet Explorer, you may need to install the Google Chrome Frame plug-in.

Or, select a format from the Download drop-down menu, then click Confirm & Download.

Select Kindle Book to complete checkout on Amazon's website and send the title to your Kindle or Kindle reading app (U.S. libraries only).

Select an eBook format to download and open the title in Adobe Digital Editions.

Select an audiobook, music, or video format to download and open the title in OverDrive Media Console.
Note: Available formats vary by library website. Windows supports eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video. Mac supports eBooks and MP3 audiobooks.

With free software from OverDrive, you can download library titles to your computer.
What you need
Downloading titles

Open your library's digital collection website (find it here).

Find a title to borrow. You can:

When you find a title, select Add to Cart.

Select Proceed to Checkout.
If prompted, sign in.

On the checkout page, you may be able to change the lending period if desired. When ready, select Confirm check out.

Click Download or Get for Kindle.
Note: Available formats vary by library website. Windows supports eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video. Mac supports eBooks and MP3 audiobooks.
