Getting Started

An OverDrive-powered site has lots of great download titles to choose from. Depending on what formats are offered, you may be able to choose from eBooks, audiobooks, music and/or video.

If you have a library card, OverDrive provides digital titles to libraries worldwide. Depending on your location, you may be able to use this service for free at your library. Find out if your library is participating by searching for it at http://search.overdrive.com. Once you've found your library's website, bookmark it so that you can easily access it in the future.

If your library is not listed, it is most likely not subscribing to OverDrive services. Please contact your library, and tell them that you're interested in OverDrive. You can also search for other libraries near you to see if they offer OverDrive.

A computer or an Android, BlackBerry, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), or Windows Phone 7 device
An Internet connection
A valid library card (library sites) or credit card (retail sites)

How It Works

You can get started with an OverDrive-powered site in four easy steps:

Browse…
- Visit search.overdrive.com to locate a site near you, or use the 'Get Books' feature from OverDrive's mobile apps.
- Browse the website. You can also search by title, subject, author, or format.
- Add selections to your Cart.
Check Out…
- Open your Cart.
- Select the Check out link.
- Enter your information when prompted.
Download…
- Click the Download button under each title, and the software will launch.
Enjoy!
- Once downloaded, enjoy immediately. Or from a computer, transfer to a variety of devices.
- Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period.
